DTM HOCKENHEIM, SATURDAY

Hockenheim, 20th October 2012. Tomorrow Roberto Merhi, the Spanish driver for Mercedes-Benz, will start from the tenth row of the grid in the final race of the DTM season, held this weekend at Hockenheim (Germany).

Today hasn't been easy for Roberto, the Spaniard had to miss a free practice session because a badly fitted wheel meant he had to stop out on the track early. Because of this he had to qualify without a good setup which prevented him from getting to Q2 as was his target and which could have been expected after his recent very promising performances.

Nevertheless Merhi will have a good chance to give his all in the race tomorrow, trying to score his first points and close the 2012 season on a high after all the good showings he has had in the second half of the year which are proof of his talent and have been crucial in being confirmed by the German manufacturer to continue for next season.

Roberto Merhi: “Of course I expected to be further up the grid on this last qualifying of the season. I did a good time with the first set of tyres but, sadly, I couldn't improve with the second set. Anyway, tomorrow is the last race of the year and, once again, I'll be giving my best to get a good result.”
